Brisbane based singer-songwriter Andrew Morris recently released his critically acclaimed 5th solo album ‘Shadow of a Shadow’. The self-produced folk-rock opus features many guest artists including Tim Rogers, Bernard Fanning, Clare Bowditch, Washington, The Gin Club, The Wilson Pickers, Drew Wooton from The Panics and many more. Morris has been busy on the live front touring for the launch of his new album, plus support shows with Powderfinger, Dan Sultan, Justin Townes Earle and Augie March. He has played many festivals including Splendour In The Grass, Big Day Out, Day On The Green, Queenscliff, Apollo Bay, Gympie Muster, Woodford and Port Fairy Folk festivals.
Also keeping him busy is touring and recording with his ‘side project’, twice Aria nominated The Wilson Pickers. Morris was recently awarded the Grant McLennan Memorial Fellowship with fellow Wilson Picker Danny Widdicombe, to travel to Berlin in 2011 to further his songwriting. Morris has assembled a who’s who of Brisbane musicians to form a crack backing band to best deliver the tracks off new album ‘Shadow of a Shadow’ in the live arena. New single ‘Horizon’, featuring Powderfinger’s Bernard Fanning on vocals, is to be released in April 2011.

‘musically adroit and emotionally true record’.
‘it’s when Morris stands alone – see NYC, a tale of girls and globetrotting, or Home Fires, drunk on words – that his George Harrison-y thing for melody and melancholy shines the brightest’

‘the choral harmonies of Battles have a baroque Fleet Fox-y feel to them and the graceful Exils would sound great wafting from a Queenslander verandah on a Sunday afternoon’
