Tell Me

Abbey Stone is creating a name for herself with a mesmerizing blend of R&B, pop and soul. Seventeen year old Abbey’s voice has a remarkable maturity and emotiveness usually found in legends like Janis Joplin, Tori Amos or Adele. Abbey has performed at numerous festivals & live gigs over the past few years & her soulful voice is one that keeps the crowd wanting more.

Abbey’s music is driven by her integrity and passion. “When I write, I’m saying exactly how I feel at that very moment, no matter how much it hurts”. She just kept on singing and writing. Abbey spent 2010 co-writing and recording an album, however, during a radio interview with Bob Valentine just before its release, Abbey realized that she had developed beyond the album. “They were good songs, but they weren’t me anymore. Who’s going to believe the songs if I don’t?”.

Abbey is now mid-way through re-writing her debut album with a new found confidence, a new band and her enduring sense of purpose. “I want my debut to be pages out of my diary. I want to look back and know exactly how I felt when I was writing each song and remember exactly who or what it’s about and what lead to its birth.” Abbey Stone the artist is also a typical seventeen year-old. She is in high school, she has a part time job, likes hanging with friends and doing what seventeen year olds do.

Abbey has avoided the TV talent cattle calls preferring to maintain her integrity as an artist with control over her own destiny. Abbey’s approach soon caught the attention of Jeff Martin of The Tea Party, who invited her to sing with him at the Fender Guitar Jam at the Australian International Music Show.

With many bumps along the way, Abbey is a powerful and painfully honest artist that doesn’t skip any details when writing: “When I write, I do it to get things off my chest, and that means saying exactly how I feel at that very moment, no matter how much it hurts.”
