Joe Pug’s soulful voice, stream of consciousness songwriting and rich guitar work saw his 2010 debut album Messenger nominated for a Best New & Emerging Artist award at the Americana Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. His candid live show has been honed alongside such greats as Steve Earle, Josh Ritter and M.Ward.
Last November was Joe’s first visit to Australia, where he wowed audiences so much so that he was asked to return for another series of performances.
From Oct. 29th to Nov 13th 2011, Joe will be visiting Freemantle, Melbourne, Brisbane, Meeniyan, and Canberra before ending the tour with a two-night stint in Sydney at The Vanguard.
Joe has been playing a couple of old Guild guitars his whole career (a D-25 and a JF-30 model) and he just took delivery of a brand new D-40 Bluegrass Jubilee which he loves – in fact the Aussie tour will be his first tour with the new guitar.
